AI Product Photography: Studio-Quality Product Photos from a Phone
To make professional product photos from a phone picture, open the Product Photo Studio, add the photo and pick a scene. The free version cuts the product out and places it on white or a colour at marketplace size, on your device. Pro AI uses Google’s product model on Vertex AI to photograph the product in a new scene (white studio, marble counter, wooden table, outdoors, living room, pastel podium, or one you describe) while keeping its label and shape.
Product Photo Studio: the short answer
- Amazon or eBay main image on pure white: the free version.
- Lifestyle and social photos in a real-looking setting: Pro AI (10 credits).
- Shoot the product in even light, straight on, with the label readable.
- Check each marketplace’s rules for main and secondary images.
What people search for, answered
How do I take professional product photos with my phone?
Use daylight from a window, put the product on a plain surface, shoot straight on with the label facing you and fill the frame. Then open the Product Photo Studio: the free version gives you a clean white-background image at marketplace size, and Pro AI places the product in a styled scene.
How do I make a white background for Amazon product photos?
Amazon’s main image must be on pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255) with the product filling about 85 percent of the frame, with no props or text. The free Product Photo Studio does exactly that. Our marketplace requirements guide lists Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Shopify rules.
What is an AI product photo generator?
A model that takes your product photo and generates a new scene around it, as if it had been photographed there. Google’s product model is built to keep the product itself (shape, label, colour) unchanged while changing everything around it.
How do I make lifestyle product photos without a photoshoot?
Pick a scene in the Pro AI panel (marble counter, wooden table, outdoors, living room) or describe one, such as “on a bathroom shelf next to a plant”. Make a few and keep the most natural.
Can I use AI product photos on Amazon and Shopify?
For secondary and lifestyle images, generally yes, as long as the product is shown accurately. Amazon’s main image must be a real photo of the product on white; do not use a generated scene there.
Why use ImgVX Pro AI for it
- Google’s product recontext model, made for one job: keep the product as it is and photograph it somewhere new.
- Six ready scenes plus your own description.
- White-background marketplace images stay free on the same page.
- Failed runs cost nothing. If Google returns an error or a safety filter stops the image, the credits go straight back to your account.
- No app, no watermark. It runs from the page in any modern browser on a phone or computer, and the download carries no ImgVX watermark. Google adds its invisible SynthID mark to AI images, which is how AI content should be labelled.
Free version or Pro AI?
The Product Photo Studio page has two versions of the tool. Try the free one first: if it is good enough, you have spent nothing.
| Free (on your device) | Pro AI (Google Vertex AI) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | In your browser; the photo never leaves your device | Google Vertex AI; the photo is sent to Google for that run only |
| Model | A compact open-source model | Google Imagen product recontext model on Vertex AI |
| Cost | Free with a free account | 10 paid credits a run |
| Best for | Pure white or colour backgrounds at marketplace sizes | Lifestyle scenes, social posts, ads and store banners |
How to use the Product Photo Studio, step by step
- Photograph the product in even light, label facing the camera.
- Open the Product Photo Studio and choose the photo.
- For a scene, open “Pro AI”, pick a scene or describe one, and press Run Pro AI (10 credits).
- Download, then resize for your store with the Image Resizer.
Tips for better results
- One product per photo; the model is built around a single object.
- Check small text on labels after each run; zoom in before you publish.
- Make several scenes for one product and use the same scene across a range for a consistent store.
What it will not do
- It is for products, not people; requests to change a person are refused.
- It must not be used to show a product as something it is not (a different colour, size or finish).
- Every typed description is checked by our payment provider’s moderation service before Google sees it, and Google’s own safety filters run on every image. Anything in our Acceptable Use Policy (sexual content, anything involving minors, deepfakes, fake documents, removing watermarks) is refused before any credits are used.
What it costs
Pro AI runs on paid credits only, because every run costs us money on Google Cloud: the Product Photo Studio uses 10 credits a run. Pro Monthly is $5.90 a month with 300 credits (your first month is $1), enough for about 30 runs. Pro Yearly is $39.99 a year with 4,000 credits. With no subscription, a credit pack of 50 is $4.99 and 200 is $12.99. The free trial credits do not cover Pro AI, and an account’s Pro AI use is capped by what it has paid, so the $1 first month covers only a few runs. See pricing.
Your photo is sent to Google Vertex AI for that run and is not stored by us; we keep a log of the run (tool, time, credits and any text you typed). The privacy policy has the details.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Product Photo Studio free?
The on-device white-background version is free. Pro AI scenes use 10 paid credits a run, refunded if the run fails.
Will the label on my product stay readable?
The model is built to keep the product and its label, but small print can change. Always check it before publishing.
Can I use the photos for ads?
Yes, if they show the product accurately and you own the original photo. More help: ImgVX AI help docs.
What size are the images?
Pro AI scenes come back at about 1K to 2K. Resize them for each store with the Image Resizer.
