How do I mirror half of a photo?
Choose which half to keep, left, right, top or bottom, and it is reflected onto the other side. Move the Mirror line to reflect around a different point, for example to line it up with the middle of a face or a building.
What does the kaleidoscope do?
It cuts the photo into wedges around the centre and reflects one wedge all the way round, like a real kaleidoscope. More segments give a busier pattern, and Kaleidoscope turn picks which part of the photo the wedge is taken from.
Is this the same as flipping the image?
No. Flipping turns the whole picture around; mirroring keeps one half and repeats it reflected, so the result is symmetrical. To simply flip a photo, use Rotate and Flip.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Mirror & Kaleidoscope runs entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. The file is read from your device, processed on your device, and the result is handed straight back to you. It never travels to a server, so there is nothing for us to store, log or leak.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
It is free with no account and no watermark. Because the work happens on your own hardware there is no per-image cost to us, so there is no quota. The only real limit is your device's memory: images beyond roughly 40 megapixels are refused rather than crashing the tab.
